What is BOTOX® Cosmetic?
Botox® Cosmetic is the only FDA-approved treatment for the temporary reduction of moderate to severe worry lines, frown lines, laugh lines, crow’s feet and other dynamic wrinkles. It requires no recovery time and causes little discomfort.

How does Botox® Cosmetic work?
Botox® Cosmetic blocks impulses from the nerve to the tiny facial muscles that are related to expression lines. Botox® Cosmetic relaxes the muscles so they do not contract. After the treatment, the overlying skin remains smooth and unwrinkled while the untreated facial muscles contract in a normal fashion, allowing normal facial expression to be unaffected.

What is the treatment like?
Botox® Cosmetic is a quick and minimally invasive treatment. The doctor makes a few tiny injections into the desired muscle area. No anesthesia is required, although the doctor can numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream prior to injecting for your comfort.

How long does Botox® Cosmetic last?
Within days, you may see a noticeable improvement that can last up to four months. Be sure to schedule your follow-up treatments in advance. If you decide not to continue with Botox® Cosmetic, the area treated will eventually go back to its pretreatment appearance.
